Terms of sale

These are the terms you buy under. They apply to every order placed on this site by a consumer. Where they say less than Dutch consumer law says, the law wins — you cannot sign away rights you have by statute, and nothing here tries to make you.

The seller is Donker Solutions; the full registration details are on contact & details. The contract is concluded in Dutch. This English version is a translation for your convenience; where the two differ, whichever reading is more favourable to you as a consumer is the one that applies.

Prices

Every price shown includes 21% Dutch VAT . Delivery is charged at €6.95, free on orders over €100.00, and is shown on your cart before you pay.

The price that binds is the one displayed when you place your order. We change prices from time to time; a change afterwards is ours to absorb, in either direction.

A price can be obviously wrong — a rug listed at a fraction of the going rate for one of its kind is a mistake, not an offer, and we may decline the order and refund you in full rather than honour it. We will tell you which it was. This applies to blunders, not to bargains: a sale price we chose is a price we meant.

How an order becomes a contract

1. You put rugs in your cart. Nothing is reserved and nothing is owed.
2. You go to checkout, which hands you to Stripe, our payment processor, on Stripe's own page. We never see your card number.
3. You pay. This is your offer to buy.
4. Stripe emails you a receipt. This confirms your payment, and is your proof of it. It is sent automatically at the moment you pay.
5. We accept your order by dispatching the rug. That is when the contract is made.

The gap between the receipt and the dispatch is deliberate and it is where we check we can actually supply what you bought. This is a small workshop where one pair of hands makes each rug after it is ordered, so it is possible we cannot make something the way it was asked for. If that happens we email you and refund you in full, promptly. You are owed nothing further, and we are sorry rather than defensive about it.

So: a Stripe receipt means your money has moved, not that a rug is on its way. In practice the two are close together and we will tell you if they are not.

You may order up to 10 of any one size per order. More than that is a trade enquiry — write to robbedonker@gmail.com.

Delivery

We deliver to the addresses listed on contact & details, normally within 2–4 business days of your order. That is an estimate. Where it matters, the law gives you thirty days: if we have not delivered by then, you may give us a final reasonable deadline, and if we miss that too you may cancel and be refunded in full.

Risk passes to you when the rug is handed to you, not when it is handed to the carrier. A parcel lost or damaged in transit is our problem to solve.

Payment

Card payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Their terms govern the payment itself; ours govern the sale. We are told whether a payment succeeded and given the last four digits of the card, and we never receive the number.

Returns

30 days to change your mind, and separate rights if the rug is faulty. Both are set out in full on returns, which forms part of these terms.

Liability

We are liable for what we get wrong: a rug that is not what we described, damage in transit, a failure to deliver. We are not liable for loss that could not reasonably have been foreseen when you ordered, and we do not limit our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes

We may revise these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and revising them afterwards does not reach back — so a change here can never take away something you were promised at the time.

Law and jurisdiction

Dutch law applies. If you live elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country you live in. Disputes go to the Dutch courts, without prejudice to your right to bring proceedings where you live.
